Once again streets in Aba, including markets were deserted despite the suspension of the sit-at-home by the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB.

According to Obinwannem correspondent, who monitored the exercise said, Uhuru market in Aba, was in total shutdown as not a single person were seen around the market, all stalls were closed.

IPOB orderd on July 30, sit-at-home in the South-East every Monday, until it’s leader is released from the custody of Department of States Services, DSS.

However, the Pro Biafra group suspended the protest, stating that the protest would be observed on the day Kanu would be arraigned in the court.

The Abia State Government advised law abiding citizens to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.

It added that it makes no economic sense to order traders to sit-at-home while they are struggling to feed their families under the harsh economy.

Meanwhile, most residents in Aba, had said they would rather sit-at-home on the proposed Monday, until Nnamdi Kanu is released.
