We were refused access to our Client in DSS for the second time since the last court hearing – Ejiofor

Obinwannem News We were refused access to our Client in DSS for the second time since the last court hearing - Ejiofor

Update on the lawless Department of State Service DSS’s aborted routing visit to our indefatigable client Nnamdi Kanu’s Abuja headquarters

We were at the DSS Headquarters today, as is our custom, to witness the Court-Ordered visit to our dear Client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. However, for the second time since the last court hearing, we were flatly denied access to our Client by DSS personnel.

This is an appalling and condemnable development because there was no plausible reason(s) given for this violent violation of a Court Order.

Remember that His Lordship, Hon. Justice Binta Nyako’s Order directing our routine visits to our Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – is unequivocal and clear that these visits should be conducted on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

During our visit to Onyendu last week Thursday, the 17th day of February 2022, in accordance with this Court-authorized visit, DSS personnel turned us back, claiming that the officials assigned to receive us were not available.
Today, 21st February 2022, the same flimsy reason was given for denying us access to Onyendu, in deliberate and flagrant defiance of Court Orders.

Having said that, if the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court Abuja fails and/or refuses to endorse the relevant contempt forms filed against the Director General of the DSS for gross disobedience to positive Orders of Court, as he has done in the past, it will be clear to the world that the Registrar of the Federal High Court Abuja is actively protecting the contemnors.

Court orders must be followed to the letter and must be not only respected but also treated with sanctity. Regrettably, this has devolved into a farcical joke! We, therefore, wish to use this medium to inform the world that the DSS should be held accountable if anything bad happens to our client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – while he is being held hostage by them.

We will continue to keep the world informed of all developments as the DSS continues down this ignominious path. Thank you all, and continue to be blessed, UMUCHINEKE.

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq., IPOB’s Lead Counsel, signed on February 21, 2022.
