Obinwannem News Abia governor declares war against expansionist groups in the State

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has decried annexation of some Abian communities by whom he described as “criminal elements”.

The governor swore that his administration shall use every lawful means to protect and safeguard every inch of the territory of Abia State, against expansionist groups, criminals and marauders within the state; adding that it shall resist any form of expansionist agenda of any kind.

This is coming from reports of some unlawful invasion of Akirika Obu Community in Ukwa East LGA by some criminal elements from the neighboring Akwa Ibom state.

Obinwannem News learnt that the invasion is connected to the lingering boundary dispute between the Akirika Obu Community and their neighbors in Ika Local Government of Akwa Ibom State.

While on a visit to the community, the Governor assured the community that every available space in the community will, henceforth be well policed.

He informed them that the Military had come to stay in their community permanently to ensure their safety and protection.

Ikpeazu restated that Akirika Obu Community in Ukwa East LGA is a part and parcel of Abia State, and as such, his government will take every lawful step to protect it from any form of unlawful invasion.
