Abakaliki, Nigeria – In a heartening turn of events, two popular Igbo comedians and social media influencers, MC Dave and the brother of Ejiofor Ezeaku, who were recently kidnapped, have been released unharmed. Their freedom was celebrated by the Director of the Obinwannem Foundation Worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Ùgwù, who expressed his gratitude to the Igbo community for their united efforts in securing their release.
In an exclusive interview with Obinwannem News correspondent Nwokwu Chukwuemeka, Mr Ùgwù praised the resilience and solidarity displayed by Igbo comedians and social media influencers during this trying time. He emphasized the importance of unity among the Igbo people, highlighting that this incident showcased the true essence of being a “brother’s keeper” within the community.
“I am thrilled to see that our fellow Igbo brothers and sisters rallied together to demand the release of MC Dave and Ejiofor Ezeaku’s brother,” Mr. Ùgwù stated during the interview. “This heartwarming display of unity serves as a reminder of our shared values and commitment to looking out for one another.”
However, Mr. Ùgwù did not shy away from addressing a concerning trend within the Igbo comedian and influencer community. He criticized certain individuals who exploit their fellow influencers’ misfortunes to gain popularity, often at the expense of creating division among Igbo communities.
