IPOB: Okigwe women press for mass return to former ways of life

Women of Okigwe constituency in Imo State have asked the entire eastern region to return to their former ways of life.

This was revealed during the opening of the event captioned ‘BACK TO YOUR ROOT’, on Sunday, in Okigwe, Imo State.

According to the women, the ‘back to your root’ event was aimed at reminding the people of Biafra of their former way of life and the importance of going back to our previous ways.

The event which was held in Umuoma Nzerem In Ehime Local Government Area, Imo State, was massively attended by women of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and other distinguished dignitaries from all works of life.

The Presence of IPOB National coordinator, Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha and his entourage and the State coordinator represented by the Okigwe Senatorial coordinator, Mazi Echefu Chidiebere, added to the mass response of the people.

Different cultural delicacies were prepared and presented by the IPOB women while many other cultural entertainments were also displayed.

Addressing the issues of problems encountered in the present eastern region, the Okigwe women leader, Mrs. Leora Cohen said there was every need for the people of the old eastern region to make a u-turn and embrace their natural ways of life.

Speaking to Obinwannem correspondents, Leora added that so many things had gone wrong, adding that this is the time to go back and retrace the wrongs steps.

The IPOB national coordinator, Mazi Ikechukwu appreciated the Okigwe people for their efforts, while encouraging other constituencies within the state to remain steadfast.

The Okike Senatorial Coordinator, Mazi Echefu Chidiebere in his appreciation speech, expressed his happiness towards the responsive turn out of Okigwe people.
