EndSars: Police using live bullets against protesters, 3 shot dead in Surulere
The police on Monday fired live bullets at #EndSars protesters in Surulere, Lagos state, resulting in the deaths of three persons while others sustained serious injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased include two civilians and a police officer.
Reports gathered states that the three dead victims were hit by stray bullets as the policemen fired several shots to disperse the crowd.
The #EndSars protest broke out in several parts of the country following a series of brutal engagements by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad across the country.
The public has asked the Federal government to completely end the activities of SARS and avoid a repeat of previous scenarios where SARS was supposedly reorganized twice in 2017 and 2018, only to resurface worse with persistent complaints and reports linking them to criminal activities.
The protest so far has resulted in the deaths of many youths, while others have been arrested and detained.
