Imo State Governor Calls for Extradition of Biafra Agitator Simon Ekpa to Nigeria Amid Sit-at-Home Order Controversy Imo State Governor Calls for Extradition of Biafra Agitator Simon Ekpa to Nigeria Amid Sit-at-Home Order Controversy

In a recent news development, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has called on the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government and security operatives to take action and extradite Simon Ekpa, a Biafra agitator based in Finland, back to Nigeria.

Governor Uzodinma emphasized that Ekpa should be brought back to Nigeria to either comply with the sit-at-home order or face appropriate legal consequences for his alleged crimes. The call was made during a meeting with the new General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Enugu, Major General Hassan Dada, at the Government House in Owerri.

Addressing the issue, Governor Uzodinma stated, “What is topmost in our cases is this popular sit-at-home order. There’s one man called Simon Ekpa somewhere in Finland. It is our hope that the security agencies, particularly the military, working with the Federal Government, will be able to either bring Simon Ekpa back to Nigeria to also sit at home with us or be made to face the wrath of the law.”

The situation surrounding Simon Ekpa and the sit-at-home order remains a contentious matter, and it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to the Governor’s call for extradition. Further developments are likely to arise as the situation unfolds.
