Allegedly, over 50 youths from the neighbouring Aku community attacked Ikolo around 2 am, employing firearms, machetes, and petrol bombs to set numerous houses ablaze.

Protesting women from Ikolo called on the state government for intervention, holding placards expressing their distress.

The leader of the women, Florence Ekwueme, emphasized the urgent need for government assistance, stating that many in the community, particularly women and graduates, have been adversely affected.

The traditional ruler, Gabriel Ezugwu, highlighted a longstanding land dispute contributing to the recurrent attacks, urging the government to address the issue for lasting peace.

Victims shared harrowing experiences, including injuries, property loss, and displacement, underscoring the need for swift government action.
