Traditional ruler of Obigbo town, Eze Mike Nwaji, has asked the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to stop the military from the indiscriminate arrest of Obigbo residents.
The monarch also advised the soldiers to be more professional in the discharge of their duties, adding that the main people who committed the offence had all runaway.
Recall that Obigbo has been under military siege since the uprising, that followed the EndSARS protest, began.
The State Governor Wike had also blamed it on the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), even though there were no evidence linking IPOB to the incidents.
Following the ‘proscription’ of IPOB in the State, the military has so far, killed more than 50 residents according to investigations by the INTERSOCIETY.
Reacting, Nwaji told the military to stop invading people’s homes in guise of searching for IPOB members, adding that the Governor had only banned their activites.
He said, “Even if the person is a member of IPOB, I overheard the governor said that the activities of IPOB in Rivers State has been proscribed.
“I didn’t hear the governor say search them from house to house, but the governor said their activities, meetings, gatherings.
“So, any person going round and telling soldiers to come and see IPOB (should stop); the main people who committed the offence had all run awa
