The Federal Government has raised the alarm that its revenue is under serious attack.
Acting Accountant General of the Federation AGF, Mr Chukwuyere Anamekwe disclosed this in Abuja on Tuesday at the retreat for members of the Technical Sub-Committee on Cash Management.
Anamekwe attributed the attack on government revenue to “an increase in government expenditure due to increasing security challenges and social needs of the citizenry.
To address these challenges, the AGF called for “an articulated deployment of fiscal discipline and strategies that will help mitigate the challenges.
He urged public sector cash managers to identify the challenges to revenue generation and other means of enhancing inflow into Federal Government coffers.
