Obinwannem News Amotekun: Fulani group announces interest to join security outfit

Jamu Nati Fulbe association JNFA, one amongst the many Fulani cultural groups has shown interest in joining the Amotekun security outfit established by the southwest governors, stating that they support the establishment of Amotekun.

Alhaji Abdulkadir Salihu, president of the group, has urged the governors to recruit members of the Fulani community as operatives of the security outfit.

Salihu also lamented that employing Fulani as operatives of the security outfit will allay the fears that it was targeted at the herdsmen in the southwest region, adding that the Fulani community should be carried along with the Amotekun security outfit.

Salihu in his words: “We were not carried along as a community which is part and parcel of the South-West. Most of us who live in this community have been here for more than 40, 50 years.”

He said employing Fulani as operatives of the security outfit will allay the fears that it was targeted at the herdsmen in the southwest region, adding that the Fulani community has capable hands that can work for Amotekun. Salihu added that the Fulani community would soon meet with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, to intimate him about their position on the Amotekun operation.
