The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Ojo on Tuesday, sentenced a hotel manager and his supervisor Oyetunde Kazeem to death by hanging.

The duo were found guilty of conspiring and killing Timothy Adegoke, a PhD student of Abafemi Awolowo University OAU. Sequel to the sentencing, the hotel receptionist, Adesola Adedeji got two years imprisonment for altering the receipts while three other defendants were discharged and acquitted.

The deceased was said to have lodged into Hilton Hotel and Resort owned by Rahmon Adedoyin in Ile-Ife Osun state, upon his arrival from Abuja on November 5, 2021. He had arrived a day earlier for a scheduled examination at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro, Osun State, on November 6 and November 7, 2021.

However, Adedoyin’ Rahmon went missing and his family reported to the police. Upon police investigation, Mr. Adedoyin’s dead body was found in a shallow grave. The prime suspect, Dr Rahman Adedoyin and his workers. were then arrested and prosecuted for conspiracy and murder.

Mrs. Bolatito Adegoke, wife of the late Timothy Adegoke while reacting to court ruling yesterday, said, “I am very glad over the judgment of the court on those who killed my husband. God has given us, the family of Adegoke, succor to rejoice. I had lost hope in justice and I doubted the existence of God, but my faith in him has been rekindled.”
