Following Twitter’s actions on Nigeria’s president Buhari’s inciting comments, Facebook also in related terms, censored Buhari’s statements for using provocative remarks to address its citizens. Facebook said comments also violates its community standards

The president had threatened to punish secessionist, over attacks on government facilities, the President who once served as an army , said that many people misbehaving today, were too young to remember the deaths and destructions from the civil war .

In a Swift reaction, Facebook, like Twitter removed the post from its platform. It confirmed that all his statements had been removed from facebook platform.

According to News obtained by Obinwannem Media, Facebook wrote that President Buhari’s post had been removed from their platform, in line with their global policies.

The Social giant also went on to state that they removed a post from president Buhari’s Facebook page “for violating our community standards,” and “inciting violence”.

Facebook platform state, “In line with our global policies, we’ve removed a post from President Buhari’s Facebook page, for violating our community standards against inciting violence. We remove any content, from individuals or organizations that violates our policies on Facebook”.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Twitter deleted Buhari’s tweet, where he issued a threat to deal with
“misbehaving elements in the language they understand,” while making reference to Nigeria’s civil war.

The Tech company, however, replied, the President, noting that his tweet violated its rule.

This development, led the Nigerian government to suspends Twitter operations in Nigeria on Friday.

It is, however, unclear if similar ban would be applicable to Facebook as it did to Twitter on Friday for deleting the inciting remarks.
