“Enugu Government Seeks Partnership with NDE to Train 40,000 Youths”

The Enugu State Government on Thursday, expressed interest in collaborating with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to provide vocational training for 40,000 unemployed individuals in the state each year.

Dr. Malachy Agbo, the Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Eradication, expressed this commitment during a visit to the State Coordinator of NDE.

He stressed the importance of human capital development for the well-being and prosperity of citizens and emphasized Governor Mbah’s dedication to equipping youths and the unemployed with vocational skills to enhance their employability.

Dr. Agbo underlined the need to empower people beyond formal education to alleviate poverty and mentioned the administration’s goal of reducing poverty in Enugu State to zero percent in the next eight years.

He emphasized the importance of a partnership with NDE to achieve this objective.

In response, the State Coordinator of NDE, Mr. Eugene Agu, welcomed the collaboration and assured the readiness of NDE to provide quality skills acquisition for Enugu State residents, aligning with their mission to combat unemployment and promote self-reliance.
