Barely 24 hours after eight police officers were killed at checkpoint in Rivers State, another gruesome death of five soldiers in Omelema community, Odua Local Government Area of Rivers State, was recorded.
Obinwannem News gathered that the gunmen were shooting randomly as they approached the camp of the military personnels, killing two on the spot, at about 11am.
Efforts in reaching out to the Spokesman of the 6 division, Nigerian army, Major Charles Ekeocha in Port-Harcourt proved abortive as he was not answering his calls, at the time of filing the reports.
Meanwhile, a security meeting was already in progress; of all heads of security agencies, at the headquarters of the State police command, along Moscow road in Port-Harcourt.
