No other time for Yoruba to pull out of Nigeria but now – Wole Oke

The former Secretary of Afenifere in Kwara State, Chief Wole Oke, has reacted over the self-determination call for Oodua Republic in Nigeria, saying the Yoruba deserve an independent country.

Speaking with correspondents of Vanguard in Ilorin recently, Mr. Oke said “Yorubas have abundant resources which can sustain us as a country and Yorubas in Nigeria deserve to have a separate country from Nigeria”.

“There are so many countries across the world today that are not even up to half of our population and are doing well.

“I don’t have any doubt in my mind about our survival as Yoruba nation. Today, the imperativeness of our exit from Nigeria is obvious, especially considering that the Fulani have taken over Nigeria”.

“There is no other time for Yoruba to pull out of Nigeria but now”

Recall that the Oodua had declared a worldwide protest in place of 1st October commemoration of Nigeria’s independence, joining the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s declaration for all to sit at home in Biafra land the same day, October 1.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has vowed to support the new generation of Oodua and other regions in Nigeria who are generally seeking self-determination in Nigeria.
