In a bid to strengthen the governance structure in Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah has forwarded the names of 15 commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly. The list, which was read on the floor of the House on Friday, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia.
Among the nominees are prominent individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Notable names on the list include Prince Lawrence Eze, who has been actively involved in various community development projects and experienced former Commissioners, Okey Ogbodo and Kingsley Ude. Adding to the diverse skill set of the nominees is Aka Eze Aka, a renowned veteran broadcaster known for his outstanding work in the media industry.
Prof Chidiebere Onyia, while acknowledging that the list was not yet complete, appealed to the State House of Assembly for speedy consideration. During the reading of the list, Onyia expressed confidence in the assembly’s usual expeditious handling of such matters. He stressed the importance of having a functional cabinet to address the various challenges facing Enugu State.
