It has been confirmed that the Vice-chairman of Benue State Action Committee on COVID-19 and also deputy Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, Professor Godwin Achinge has died of controversial health issues associated with coronavirus.

Sources close to the family have revealed on Sunday that Professor Achinge died in an undisclosed hospital in Jos, Capital city of Plateau State where he was taking treatment.

However, an anonymous member of the Benue State COVID-19 committee confirmed this to our correspondent today.

In his words, he said: “Yes, we lost Professor Achingi, the deputy chairman of the state action committee on COVID-19 this afternoon,” the source affirmed.

Contacted the State Commissioner for Information and member of the State Action Committee on COVID-19, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi, she said that she was yet to confirm the report from the chairman of the State Action Committee on COVID-19 and deputy governor of the State, Benson Abounu.
