Ebonyi State governor David Umahi has raised alarm over a planned attack in his State.
He urged resident to be on the watch, and defend themselves against any external aggression.
This new development was disclosed by the governor, during an enlarged security meeting on Thursday, at Ecumenical Centre, Abakiliki.
He called on residents’ attention, following reports of AK-47 wielding Fulani herdsmen in the State, that it was high time people arose against any form of attack.
The governor revealed the information, following a message that was said to have been sent by the herdsmen to the State; of an impending attack on the state.
The Governor said: “We note that there have been threats from herders with AK-47, sending text message to Ebonyi State, that they are coming to attack us.
“We have resolved as a people to confront anybody whether he is a herder or criminal, that will come into the state, with any gun to kill or anyone that enters the State with the intervention to commit assault.
“Protect yourself in all the nooks and crannies of the state, confront anybody that want to kill our people. If the people want to kill with stick, look for a stick. Don’t look for security people to come. No sleeping day and night; protect yourself.”
