Tragedy in Aba: 3-storey building collapse, kills many

A three-storey building undergoing construction in Azikiwe by Kent road, Aba, has collapsed, leaving victims dead.

The building which collapsed at the early hours of Wednesday was said to be a shelter for some homeless individuals, who unfortunately were unable to escape the tragedy.

On our arrival to the scene, Obinwannem News gathered that the lifeless bodies of two unidentified women had been evacuated, while the police await the arrival of an excavator.

However, as at the time of this report, there were contemplations that more people are trapped in the collapsed building.

According to an eyewitness, the building collapsed s a result of inferior materials used for its constructions.
