A new Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya, has been appointed, today, May 27, by the presidency to succeed the Late, General Ibrahim Attahiru, who died on Friday, in a plane crash.
The announcement was made by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, acting Director of Information.
Prior to his appointment, Major General Yahaya, was the General Officer, Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army.
He is also the incumbent theater commander of Counter Terrorism, Counter Insurgency millitary outfit in the North East, Codenamed Operation HADIN.
