The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has submitted a petition to the President of the Court of Appeal, urging the fixing of a date to hear the appeal challenging the Exparte Order that proscribed IPOB.
In a letter dated November 9, Kanu expressed concern over the unlawful detention of numerous IPOB members and sympathizers without trial, emphasizing that the delayed appeal hearing contributed to the government treating them as terrorists.
Kanu, currently held in solitary confinement since June 2021, highlighted the dire conditions of those illegally detained and urged a swift resolution through a fair judicial process.
