Manchester City staged a remarkable comeback, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to defeat RB Leipzig 3-2 at the Etihad.

The win guaranteed their top spot in Champions League Group G.

Julian Alvarez, introduced in the second half, netted the decisive goal three minutes from time.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden also contributed to City’s victory, securing their seventh consecutive season as group leaders with a flawless record of five wins in five matches.

Despite a lackluster start, City’s dynamic second-half display, propelled by Alvarez and Jeremy Doku, transformed the game.

Foden’s pivotal role included setting up Haaland’s goal and scoring one himself to level the playing field.

The hosts’ slow start led to RB Leipzig’s surprise lead courtesy of Lois Openda’s brace.

With both teams already qualified, RB Leipzig secures second place in the group, preparing to face Young Boys, while Manchester City faces an away match against Red Star Belgrade in the final group stage encounter.
