Ibadan, Oyo State – The Eze Ndigbo of Ibadanland and President of the Non-Indigenes Traditional Council of Ibadan, Oyo State, Alex Anozie, has sadly passed away at the age of 74. The respected leader reportedly passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Ososami residence in Ibadan, the state capital.
Alex Anozie, originally from Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, was known for his significant contributions to the economic growth of the historic town of Ibadan. He had a notable career as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CONAC Optical Company, located in Ibadan.
One of his close associates, speaking to The PUNCH, revealed that the late Eze Ndigbo showed no signs of illness before his passing, adding to the shock of his sudden demise.
As a mark of respect and to pay their last respects, his remains have been transported to his hometown of Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, where he will receive his final burial rites.
The death of Alex Anozie has left a void in the Ibadan community and the Ndigbo chieftain will be remembered for his significant contributions to the city’s growth and development. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and worked with him.
