Nigeria Citizens Protest #ENDSARS abroad Thousands of Nigerian citizens living abroad are protesting in various countries today, pictures made available to Obinwannem News had confirmed.
According to reports, protests are ongoing in countries like Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, etc over bad governance in Nigeria.
The protesters are demanding immediate disbandment and police reforms among others, due to the persistent complaints of Police brutality rocking the country for years now.
In a bid to quell the protests, the Buhari-led government on 20th October 2020 ordered a military exercise codenamed ”Operation Crocodile Smile” across the country, which led to a mass shooting of unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
The death toll in the region of 50 has sparked outrage across the world with many prominent people ad word leaders coming out to condemn the shooting as evil and undemocratic.
The international Human Rights watchdog, Amnesty International has said not less than 10 protesters were killed by the army and police at Lekki toll gate and a total of 56 people died since the demonstrations began some few weeks ago.
