President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially confirmed the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) as the Comptroller-General (CG) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Prior to his formal confirmation today, Adeniyi had been serving as the CG of the NCS in an acting capacity, demonstrating his dedication to the service.
The appointment, effective as of October 19, 2023, is in line with the extant provisions of the Public Service Rules, signaling a new chapter in the leadership of the NCS.
In a statement released by Williams Bassey, the director of information in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, President Tinubu charged the newly appointed Customs CG to leverage his extensive experience in executing his new responsibilities. This development is anticipated to bring fresh insights and direction to the Nigeria Customs Service.
