Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, has given the green light to an extensive array of road construction projects across the state. This significant development is part of the administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the overall quality of life for Ebonyi residents and spurring socio-economic growth.

Here is an overview of the roads approved for construction by Governor Nwifuru:

1. Ogbubara Junction to Offerekpe, Ikwo (41km): This 41-kilometer road project is poised to enhance connectivity and accessibility in the Ikwo area greatly.

2. Obvudechi – Iziogo road (19km): The 19-kilometer Obvudechi – Iziogo road will open up new opportunities for transportation and commerce.

3. Offerekpe – Agbaja Internal road (33km): This 33-kilometre internal road project will provide residents with improved access to key areas in the region.

4. Ishieke Odomoke Ekebeligwe – Isophu – Nworie (12.802km): The construction of this 12.802-kilometer road is expected to enhance connectivity and facilitate easier movement within the area.

5. Ezzaegu-Ezilo Road (21.4km): The Ezzaegu-Ezilo Road, spanning 21.4 kilometres, will have a positive impact on transportation and commerce in the region.

6. Ebonyi Agro Dealers Market Road Onuebonyi (1.3km): The 1.3-kilometer road to Ebonyi Agro Dealers Market will improve accessibility for agricultural stakeholders.

7. Ogbuenyi/Ndibe Beach Road with spurs, Afikpo (2km): This project will enhance tourism and accessibility to the picturesque beaches in the Afikpo area.

8. Itara – Dr. Akanu Ibiam – Oyoyo – Erei road, Unwana (1.8km): The 1.8-kilometre road in Unwana will contribute to improved transportation infrastructure in the locality.

9. Rehabilitation of Alo Street to Unity Square with some spot maintenance along Nwele Street: The rehabilitation of Alo Street and Unity Square, along with spot maintenance on Nwele Street, will enhance the urban environment.

10. Agbaja Ndiebor access road with spurs, Abakaliki LGA (11.3km): This project will provide improved access to Agbaja Ndiebor and stimulate development in the Abakaliki Local Government Area.

11. Ogbaga-Nwofe Road (23km): The construction of the 23-kilometer Ogbaga-Nwofe Road will connect communities and promote economic activities in the region.

12. Mile 50 New Layout (4.5km): The Mile 50 New Layout road, spanning 4.5 kilometres, will enhance urban connectivity and accessibility.

13. Legacy fm road (0.6km): This short but significant road project will contribute to improved infrastructure in the vicinity of Legacy FM.

14. Nkwobo-Akaezeukwu-Iyioji Road, Akaeze, Ivo (3.16km): The construction of this 3.16-kilometer road will connect communities and enhance transportation in Akaeze, Ivo.

15. Amankwo-Amaelu road, Afikpo LGA (2.6km): The 2.6-kilometre Amankwo-Amaelu road will boost connectivity in Afikpo Local Government Area.

16. Oriuzor-Onueke Road (13.53km): This 13.53-kilometer road project is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods in the area.

17. Offerekpe-Ezza Opfu Road (3.2km): The construction of this 3.2-kilometer road will improve access and connectivity between Offerekpe and Ezza Opfu.

18. Hon. Ugo Chima Road in Ezza South (3.8km): The Hon. Ugo Chima Road, spanning 3.8 kilometres, will promote development and accessibility in Ezza South.

19. 2km road in each of the 140 Communities in the State (280km): This ambitious project will result in a total of 280 kilometres of roads being constructed, touching every community in Ebonyi State, further enhancing connectivity and rural development.

Governor Nwifuru’s approval of these extensive road construction projects demonstrates his administration’s commitment to fostering economic growth, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people of Ebonyi State.
