Unidentified gunmen reportedly killed three policer officers, and carted away rifles in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
The officers were killed on duty, during a ‘stop and search’ operation, along Onuebonyi Nwaezenyi road, Sahara Reporters, confirmed.
The hoodlums operated with a bus, which they also used to escape to an unknown location.
However, the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary.
The increase in attacks , especially security operatives has caused great panic in the Southeast region.
Similarly, last week Monday, Imo police headquarters and correctional centre in Owerri, setting over 50 vehicles ablaze, and freeing over a thousand inmates.
The growing tensions due to attacks on police facility, including the killing of many officer, is of great concerns to the Southeast region.
In an attempt to curb the security challenges, Southeast governors announced a joint security outfit, known as , “Ebubeagu”.
