The police in Uganda has arrested the 38-year-old singer just after he was certified to run for the presidency.

According to NBS, a local television reporting from the scene of the incident, Wine, 38, who is looking to unseat the long-serving President Museveni, 76, was shoved into a police vehicle as supporters struggled with the police.

Wine, real name, Robert Kyagulanyi, has continued to call out the President to retire, he is very popular among poor people from the urban areas.

He immediately tweeted after his candidacy was confirmed,
”We now enter the most critical phase of our liberation struggle!”

Authorities frequently accuse Wine of planning rallies that could disrupt public order, something the young singer denies.
