BREAKING NEWS: Nigerian Army Releases Detained Monarch, Prince Clement Ikolo, After High-Level Intervention

The Nigerian Army has released Prince Clement Ikolo Ogenerukevwe, the monarch who was declared wanted in connection with the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama, Delta State. This decision was made after highly-placed individuals in society intervened and a thorough review was conducted. Although the army has not cleared anyone of wrongdoing, they decided to release the monarch.

The military had launched a manhunt for those suspected to be involved in the incident, which led to the declaration of several individuals as wanted. The monarch, who is the traditional ruler of the community where the incident occurred, voluntarily submitted himself to the police and was later handed over to the Army.

On Friday, the Army handed over the monarch to the Senator representing Delta Central at the Army headquarters, where the Senator vouched for the monarch’s good character.
