Obinwannem News Two die in Ilorin-Jebba highway crash

Two people lost their lives in an accident on Monday, October 1, 2021, in Olokonla, along Jebba-Ilorin Expressway.

The Federal Road Safety Corps ‘FRSC’ First
Information Report states that the accident involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus with number plate, BFU 947 XA, at around 4 am.

The report also stated that the accident was caused by a burst tyre which made the vehicle lose control.

Kwara state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Jonathan Owoade, who confirmed the accident, said, “Six persons were in the vehicle, including the driver. Three of the passengers were injured while the rest two died.”

He said that those injured were taken to a private hospital in the area for treatment while the corpses of the dead persons were deposited in the morgue of Ilorin General Hospital.

Owoade advised drivers to pay attention to their vehicle adding that they should be properly maintained while old and faulty spare parts should be replaced.
