In a bid to support the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, a group of women under the aegis of the Indigenous People of Biafra residing in the United States of America, have resolved to raise funds in September, and block the United States delivery of super fighter jets to Nigeria.

According to Sahara reporters who obtained a message from the members of the group on Thursday, the fundraiser is geared towards lobbying and funding the legal fight to halt the delivery of six A-29 Super Tucano jet fighters by the US to Nigeria.

Moreover, the USA delivered six Tucano aircraft to Nigeria on July 22 out of the 12 procured to strengthen the country in its fight against Boko Haram and other security challenges in the country.

SaharaReporters had also published that an American constitutional lawyer, Bruce Fein, revealed that a suit has been filed in the US on behalf of the IPOB against the sale of the A-29 Tucano fighter jets to the Nigerian government.

The American IPOB lawyer said the lawsuit would seek to revoke the delivery of the six Tucano jets sold and also block the remaining six from being conveyed to the country.

He stressed that the weapons were meant to unleash genocidal attacks on Biafra agitators and supporters who are mainly from the South-East of Nigeria.

“So, the lawsuit of the delivery and sales of Tucano aircraft are in violation of the law. The lawsuit is not filed in isolation. There is a larger percentage number of Americans involved.

“(The people) reasonably fear that the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft will be used imminently to kill or maim them physically or to destroy their property. The sale is in flagrant violation of international law,” Fein said.

In the same vein, IPOB/Biafran Women in the USA, according to the message sent to its members, said the forthcoming fundraiser is in “support of the landmark legal marathon to stop the sale and delivery of the super Tucano aircraft and other military equipment to the Nigerian terrorist government and the fight to free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and restore Biafra.”
