Reports reaching Obinwannem in Enugu is the suspected case of the novel virus, COVID19 at of the Parklane hospital.
A 70 years old woman who hails from Owerri, Imo state is receiving treatments for symptoms associated with the early stages of the deadly disease.
The woman whose identity is yet to be disclosed had returned from a trip to see her family in the United Kingdom some 5 months back.
Having been through Lagos, Owerri, and Enugu, it is assumed that she has been in contact with many and the risk of infections is high in the Southern part of the country.
Symptoms of fever, cough and respiratory distress prompted a rapid response from a team of multi-disciplinary staff from ESUTH who immediately placed her in isolation pending confirmation of test results.
