After 10 days in police custody, the police on Wednesday, released the former acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

Barrister Tosin Ojaomo, one of the lawyers defending Magu confirmed his release shortly after the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, instructed him to direct his bail applications to the Presidential panel probing Magu’s activities.

Ojaomo said: “Yes, I can confirm that Magu has been released this evening.

However, Obinwannem news gathered that the Presidency has ordered the suspension of 12 directors of the EFCC, including the commission’s Secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede.

This, after some loyalists to Magu, were said to have fled with some sensitive files requested by the presidential panel.
