What Cristiano Ronaldo’s return has done to compatriot Bruno Fernandes in the last few weeks

Obinwannem News What Cristiano Ronaldo's return has done to compatriot Bruno Fernandes in the last few weeks

Former Real Madrid and Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo made his legendary return to the Old Trafford in the last summer transfer window for his second spell at the club after almost 12 years of his departure to the Spanish Capital 2009.

The forward enigma kick-started his career on a high note as he picked up his goal scoring form for the Red Devils from where he left off before his dream move to the Los Blancos, netting a brace on his return debut against Newcastle United at the Old Trafford.

In recent time, the return of the Portuguese talisman seems to be doing more harm than good in the squad having overshadowed his countryman Bruno Fernandes since making his return debut.
The 27 years old midfield maestro seems to be quiet with his level of delivery in the front of goal, having been able to found the back of the net once which subdued him at the club from been a regular goal scorer and a top scorer at that to struggling for goals in games.

At the initial stage, Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be the lost piece for Manchester United with his early rise in his first three games played before everything went the other way round, losing unnecessary points where it’s not expected with the most significant one been their heavy defeat to bitter rival Liverpool in the last weekend at the Old Trafford.

His incredible performance earned him the Player of the Month award as he announced his arrival to the premier league with three goals in three league games at that time which was the first month of his return.

Taking a critical look at the team since Ronaldo’s return compared with last season squad, the influence of the five-times Ballon d’or winner is really telling on Bruno Fernandes who was a shining star for the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side before now.

Bruno Fernandes is known to be a high scoring midfielder for Manchester United since his arrival at the club from Sporting CP both in the domestic top-flight league and European competition, competing with top strikers from other top clubs.

The midfield ace has scored four goals in 13 appearances so far this season with only one been scored after Ronaldo made his debut, as the other three was his first ever hat-trick scored for the club in their league opener against Leeds United before Ronaldo’s arrival.

Attention has now shifted away from Fernandes as the main man as he do take responsibility on himself to win games for United where and when necessary, which he has decided to pass it through to Ronaldo.

Bruno Fernandes from observation is not creating opportunities like before neither is he grabbing hold of games anymore as he feels he’s got to deliver everything to Ronaldo, as this was not the case in the last season where Manchester United did pretty well both in the league and UEFA Europa finishing second in the two with Bruno Fernandes playing instrumental roles.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer job in charge of the club been at stake as been under probation with board decision to be made after the outcome of this weekend game away from home against Tottenham Hotspur, could there be any way out to fix things up and get back to winning ways by getting the result coming to save his career?
