Igbo fast rising music star Chike took to his Twitter handle two days ago to tell the Igbos to stop going home during Christmas period, a post which in his own words says “Stop travelling to the damn east just because it’s Christmas, is it worth your life? Stop that primitive behavior.
“The roads are busy pick some other damn time learn! Learn! Fucking learn!”
The Igbo singer has a huge fanbase, Chike stole the hearts of the many when he appeared on the MTN project Fame West Africa and finished as runner-up.
His recent Twitter post drew criticism from a small section of his fans. He took down the post and issued an apology few hours later.
He however explained that the post was an emotional one having lost two friends to a road accident days ago. He explained he wasn’t against the Igbo culture of travelling home but was merely saying that it mustn’t be during Christmas period.
