Suspected Fulani bandits were captured by soldiers of 176 Battalion in Abuja, during a stop and search operation at Kuje area council entrance Thursday.

Reports made available to Obinwannem News revealed the men were arrested inside two gulf cars loaded with weapons, after credible intelligence was given to the troops on duty.

A source confirmed the incident stating the Fulani men were intercepted by troops on duty, during the routine stop and search in the Kuje area. The security operatives discovered severally local made weapons inside the gulf cars.

The source said suspects were still undergoing interrogation, after which they would be handed over to the police prosecution.

“They are still being questioned on how they got their weapons; where they were heading, and what other crimes they had committed,” the source explained.

Presently, most part of Abuja had been experiencing insecurity challenges; especially kidnapping for ransom, armed robbery and car-hijacking .

Gunmen were said to have attacked a pregnant woman during a midnight raid in Kwaita community, Kuje area council, two days ago.

Three persons were abducted by the kidnappers including the woman’s husband, amid sporadic shootings.

The incident came barely a month after gunmen abducted a punch journalist, Okechukwu Nnodim, at his house in Kubwa.

The kidnappers also attacked his neighbours and abducted the two sons of a widow, Mrs Faith Gbejide.
