How NSCCIMA will make Nsukka cultural zone hub of agro production, industrialization for investors _DG

The Director General of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NSCCIMA, Uchenna Nnadi, on Thursday, said the core mandate of the Chamber is to mobilize Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs and seek collaborations with industries in order to make Nsukka cultural zone destination for agro production, aggregation and industrialization for investors. The Director General of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NSCCIMA, Uchenna Nnadi, on Thursday, said the core mandate of the Chamber is to mobilize Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs and seek collaborations with industries in order to make Nsukka cultural zone destination for agro production, aggregation and industrialization for investors.

Nnadi further explained that Adada, Ebọnyị, Amanyị, Obinna, Ọmambara rivers in the Zone provide irrigation for all year round agro production, water supply and power generation.

He equally said that the clusters of traditional commodity markets throughout the Zone offer investors the opportunity of a modern and global commodity exchange market, agro aggregation and processing, and industrial parks with the accompanying Domestic Export Warehouse.

He stated this in a statement he issued as part of the activities marking the investiture of the Chamber’s 2nd President, Barr. Sam Otoboeze, scheduled for November 11, 2023 at Nsukka, Enugu State.

Part of the statement read ” Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA) is a non-religious and non-political, but a private sector institutional economic advocate for the development and growth of SMEs. NSCCIMA’s principal objective is to mobilize SMEs and seek collaboration to make its jurisdiction the inevitable economic hub of agro production, aggregation and processing, and industrialization for investors given the honey pot geography of the Zone.

“Adada, Ebọnyị, Amanyị, Obinna, Ọmambara (etc.) rivers in the Zone provide irrigation for all year round agro production, water supply and power generation.The clusters of traditional commodity markets throughout the Zone offer investors the opportunity of a modern and global commodity exchange market, agro aggregation and processing, and industrial parks with the accompanying Domestic Export Warehouse.

“The technical clusters at Ụmakashị industrial layout (Site/Mechanic Village) and Ubolo Ahọ together with UNN, Federal Poly, Ohodo, SUMAS, Madụka University and Iwollo Poly Campus at Ezimo offer the Zone solid foundation for industrialization and its own Silicon Valley. NSCCIMA will be exploring new Town and Gown projects with the tertiary institutions to bring about “Nsụka Silicon Valley”.

” The geographical Gateway status of the Zone offers it the special distribution logistic centre in Nigeria, with potential for modern Trucks Transit Park, and Dry Port; these will receive raw materials for the industry and evacuate the cement from Nigercem and the processed agro products from the Zone.

” NSCCIMA is mobilizing key stakeholders in the public and private sectors to provide the infrastructures and enabling environment to sufficiently incentivize investors onto the new Diamonds in Zone. Do not miss the First Mover Advantage category in the Zone. In the colonial era, the Diamond in the Zone was palm produce, and one of the members of the club of the First Movers was Chief Umeano. Today, Wilson Group is still working that mine, but new Diamonds have emerged in the Zone, be part of it.

” The Chamber mobilizes its key stakeholders through various activities such as; strategic bilateral and multilateral engagements with the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other relevant organizations; organizing Local Trade Fairs and Foreign Trade Missions for SMEs; Town and Gown programmes with Universities and other tertiary educational institutions for development of entrepreneurship; leading and training SMEs to avail themselves of various business opportunities within the public and private sector corridors; and data collation and analysis for the public, and a few other activities.”
