Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has taken a significant step to support the vulnerable citizens in the wake of subsidy removal by inaugurating a Committee on Verification and Payment of Outstanding Pensions and Gratuities to State Retirees.
The seven-man committee, chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, aims to address the issue of pension and gratuity arrears.
By fulfilling his campaign promise, the Governor seeks to inject billions of naira into the state’s economy on a monthly basis through timely payments to retirees.
Additionally, the state government has also established a palliative committee to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal on vulnerable members of society.
