Obinwannem News Floods in Kogi state have caused a major humanitarian crisis for millions of people - FFK

Millions of people have been affected by the floods in Kogi state, which have also severely damaged the state’s infrastructure.

Roads are blocked, people have died, their homes have been destroyed, panic has taken hold, and there is chaos in some areas of the state as a consequence of fear.

My friend and brother, the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, is making every effort to halt the crisis and return things to normal, but it appears that the federal government has left him to handle this ecological and humanitarian crisis alone.

I urge President Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria not to ignore or abandon Kogi state, and to direct relevant agencies, including NEMA, to spring into action and come to their aid.

I strongly urge and beg him to intervene in this humanitarian crisis in a positive, impactful, and meaningful manner.

The good people of Kogi state deserve all the assistance they can get from the Federal Government, including financial assistance, intervention, and formal intervention.
