Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere (Odumeje De Lion) the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry, has called on the Nigerian Government to de-proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization and also to dialogue with their leadership.

Odumeje urged the government to change the approach in addressing agitations especially IPOB movements, stressing that Biafra agitation is a genuine one and also, an outcome of the neglect, marginalization of the Old Eastern region of Nigeria.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday in an interview in Onitsha, the prophet further stated that Ndigbo deserve a fair deal in Nigeria, saying they have paid the supreme price during the ill-fated Biafra civil war in 1967-1970.

The prophet also lambasted the government over the continuous arrest and imprisonment of the members of IPOB, warning that such an approach would only put fire to the agitation rather than resolving it.

During the interview, Prophet Odumeje advised the Federal Government to cash in on the ingenuity of the Igbo youths and engage them in productive ventures, saying they possess the skills to make a positive change in the country.

Odumeje said: “witch-hunting them under the guise of ending Biafra agitation is not a viable solution rather the Government should give southeast zone a sense of belonging through equitable distribution of federal projects to the region”.
