EPL: Two Clubs set to sign Liverpool midfielder Gavi deal worth £86m

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will have to pay €100 million (£85.70 million) if they are to sign Gavi from Barcelona now, according to Marca.

Marca have reported interest in Barcelona midfielder Gavi from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester City.

The report has added that both clubs have been willing to pay the midfielder’s (previous) release clause of €50 millon( £42.85 million).

Liverpool and Manchester are unlikely to pay £86 million for Barcelona midfielder Gavi this summer.

Fabrizio Romani confims Liverpool star to exit club this summer

Sadio Mane appears set to be joined by Taki Minamino in departing Liverpool this summer as the Japanese international explores the possibility of increased minutes elsewhere.

This comes courtesy of an update on Twitter from Fabrizio Romano, with the reporter noting that three clubs have already expressed an interest.

The former RB Salzburg ace enjoyed a prolific campaign for the Reds in the domestic cups, scoring seven goals across the FA Cup and League cup as Jurgen Klopp’s men secured both pieces of silverware.

With Divock Origi calling time on his Anfield career and taking advantage of his expired contract to pursue a switch to the Serie A with AC Milan, some had hoped that the 27-year-old would be the man to fill the Belgian’s shoes in the squad.

Whilst it would be a massive shame to lose such a significant squad player, Minamino is certainly more than entitled to secure a greater degree of playing time if he can find it beyond the borders of Merseyside.

AFCON 2023: Jose Peseiro reacts Super Eagles 10-0 win over Sao Tome

Head coach of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro has expressed his delight after the team hammered Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Monday.

However, he admitted there is more work to be done. Victor Osimhen netted four goals, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Dennis, Ademola Lookman, Etebo and Moffi also got on the scoresheet for the Super Eagles. “About the 10-0 win? Yes, it’s good.

“It is better for us [to get] three points, which is more important to us. Of course, I want to improve our organization on the field because we didn’t train too much with them.

“We want to introduce our ideas – this match was good because they tried to follow our organisation, our style, our ideas. I am also happy because the guys who entered during the match did as well as those players who started,” Peseiro said.

Tottenham concludes signing £64m Arsenal target with his agents

Arsenal are one of the biggest and best teams in world football, but the Gunners have had their fair share of transfer shockers in their time.

From Igors Stepanovs to Yaya Sanogo, the Gunners have signed their fair share of duds, but perhaps their most high-profile transfer error involved Nicolas Pepe.
At £72m, Pepe was the Gunners’ record signing, and, sadly, it’s fair to say that the Ivorian hasn’t proven to be value for money.

The winger scored just one league goal in his most recent campaign for the north London club, and even prior to last term, he wasn’t good enough.

Arsenal signed Pepe off the back of one good season in France, and at the time, it looked like something of a risk as Pepe was an unproven commodity in a league that you can’t always rely on to produce quality players.

Transfer Update: Newcastle willing to sign Arsenal player Leno

Newcastle United are once again interested in signing Bernd Leno from Arsenal after failing to agree a deal for Dean Henderson this summer, according to a report from 90min.

Leno looks set to leave the Emirates in the coming weeks. He spent most of this past season as Aaron Ramsdale’s backup. And obviously, Mikel Arteta will hope Ramsdale kicks on again this coming year.

Reports claimed that Leno had said most of his goodbyes around London Colney. But it did appear that a Premier League move may be on the cards for the Germany international.

Fulham want Leno and have opened talks. But a familiar face has also returned to the race.
