Obinwannem News Did you know? Eating tomatoes could prevent prostate cancer, prostatitis (SEE HOW)

In a nut shell, let me quick summarize what prostrate is all about. The prostate is a part of the male reproductive system. The gland is about the size of a walnut. It wraps around the tube that carries urine out of the bladder. Its function is to secrete prostate fluid.

The prostate gland weighs about 20 grams. After age 40 of every man, for hormonal reasons reasons, the prostate gland begins to enlarge from 20grams to 100 grams. As it enlarges, it squeezes the urethra and the man begins to notice (painful) burning sensation during urination; dribbling after urination, frequent urination, blood in semen or urine, frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips, pelvis or rectal area, or the upper thighs; not excluding painful sexual (ejaculation) intercourse.

There are several conditions of prostatitis (enlargement of the prostrate gland) and/or prostrate cancer: The ‘benign prostate hyperplasia’ – this is age-associated. With this condition, the prostrate gets enlarged, affecting urination. In some cases, it can lead to infection, bladder stones and reduced kidney function.

Furthermore, the ‘acute bacterial prostatis’ and ‘chronic bacterial prostatitis’ are caused by a bacterial infection; causes pelvic pains, painful urination.

Exclusively, ‘prostate cancer’ is common in men over 50 , especially in Africa and Americas. It could involve genetics, or obsession with wrong dietary – eating fatty foods. Prostate cancer may cause no symptoms at the early stage.

Treatment of prostrate-related problems could be centered on drugs, therapies, surgery, et cetera. However, the most effective treatment of prostatitis and/or prostrate cancer is prevention; mainly, dietary.

Therefore, one should not subscribe to wrong diets. Every young male adult should adopt eating two or three balls of tomato every day; and also having them in your meals. But, the former appears “effective”. Drinking plain tomato juice each morning is another good option. Just make sure to pick a low sodium variety.

Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene (meaning it protects cells from damage). Lycopene may decrease cell damage and slow cancer cell production as well as reduce tumor growth among people with prostate cancer

Study proves that males who eat more tomatoes are less likely to develop prostate cancer

Nevertheless, one could ask, how exactly do tomatoes help?

It is important to note that, lycopene, which is present in RAW TOMATOES, is firmly attached to the cell walls; hence, the body extracts it wholly.

Other Preventive Measures:

  1. Avoid fatty food such as red meat, milk. Eat much of fruits and vegetables daily. Also, eat foods rich in zinc. Zinc is important for alcohol metabolism; your liver needs zinc to metabolize alcohol.
  2. Avoid too much alcohol – more fluids in means more fluids out. Drink less, drink slowly.
  3. Exercise activities should be carried out often. It helps build the muscle tone, and strengthen your pelvic.
  4. Dont sit for a longer period. Men who sit longer are more prone to prostate symptoms – walk around as often as possible.
  5. Men should avoid tight underwater. It inhibits circulation around the groin and heats it up above its standard temperature. While psychological temperature is 37 degrees, the groin has a temperature of 33 degrees. Under-pants is a ‘no- no’ for men, unless “boxer-shorts”.
  6. Avoid smoking, it affects blood vessels and impacts circulation around the groin.
  7. Regular sex is good for the prostate.
  8. Take hot lemon; it kills cancer of all types and tumor growth.
