A youth wing of the Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has called on Ndigbo to defend themselves against any group of Fulani herdsmen and Jihadist invaders, ask Fulani herders to vacate Igboland in peace.
In a security meeting held on Thursday 4th June, convened in Owerri, Imo State, based on the state of insecurity in Igboland, the President of the group, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, stressed out needs for every Igbo man to henceforth, become security conscious.
Addressing newsmen, Igbo Ayaka urged the State Houses of Assembly in Igboland to urgently enact and pass laws prohibiting open grazing of cattle in their respective states in order to maintain absolute peace without the fear of Fulani herdsmen killers in various farmland in Igbo land.
He noted that the anti-open grazing law will go a long way in eradicating the menace of killer herdsmen and stop the herdsmen in the forest and farmland.
Comrade Igbo Ayaka also noted that the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, including Nigeria’s security agencies such as the Army and the Police have taken side with killer herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers and the Boko Haram sect to further unleash evil against the citizens.
Also in a press statement signed by the group’s National Public Secretary, Comrade Chukwu Anthony Emeka, on Friday, OYC warned Ndigbo to be vigilant and ready for Fulani invasion, alerting that rampaging herdsmen are now occupying the major highways connecting to Alaigbo, adding that Igbo have lost trust and confidence in Buhari-led Federal Government and security agencies
OYC also said that reports from International Society For Civil Liberties & Rule of Law (Intersociety) has revealed over 400 communities in Igbo land, mainly South-East is affected, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Rivers, Delta, Enugu and Ebonyi have been occupied by Fulani killers and jihadist waiting to strike.
To save our people from this conspiracy, OYC charged all governors of Igbo extraction to equip and sponsor community vigilante groups to combat insecurity and terrorism posed by killer herdsmen.
“Our Governors might be working with Federal Government who hated Ndi Igbo so much, therefore, All Town Unions President (South-East Association of Town Union)in Igbo land to commence recruitment of vigilante group at community level to defend Ala Igbo.
“In view of this growing insecurity, fear and tension in Igbo land today, OYC insisted that for the security of lives and properties of Ndi Igbo to be guaranteed, it has come to absolute self-defense.
“In This height of insecurity in the country is even brought to bear when even personnel of the army, especially from other regions, engage in the extra judicial killings of indigenes of the states they were deployed to secure as witnessed in the celebrated case of one Chimaobi Nwaorgu in August last year, a commercial motorcyclist from Abia State and even the unfortunate and shameful killing of fellow personnel as reported in the case of a kidnap kingpin Wadume, who has since confessed of working with some military personnel and being a political thug of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the same party with the president.
“The killing of Innocent Nigerian youths at Warri and Ohafia during the Covid-19 Lockdown is fact that Nigeria has reached to the peak of”DEFEND YOURSELF”.
“It is on record that the history of pogrom of 1966 and many of the tribal and religious killings and violence in Nigeria, none was caused nor masterminded by the Igbos.
“Ndigbo as peace-loving people are not in anyway against peaceful and law-abiding herdsmen but those that kill and maim citizens of their host communities and villages.
“It’s sad that we have noticed at this lockdown Fulani herdsmen militia on the other hand, have been trooping into our communities in the name of Almajiri to maim and spill innocent blood of our people It clear and it is getting more clearer every day that we have irresponsible government led by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who came to power to govern 97% of the West and North as he claimed and he is in tribalistic move in killing the 5% of the old Eastern Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that Fulani groups were behind all the atrocities and terror being perpetrated by these Fulani herders and jihadists who have since taken delight in the orgy of killing, maiming, raping and kidnapping in the southern Kaduna, with the sole aim to wipe out Christians in the North while the Federal Government continued to treat them with kids gloves and the serious security threat they pose, with levity.
“Therefore, in view of the foregoing, OYC is calling Ndigbo to remain alert and vigilant. But in every sense of reality Ndigbo will not tolerate any tribe or group of criminals to invade and spill the blood in Igboland or in any part of the country.
“Additionally, Ndigbo will not remain silent but massively retaliate against any group or tribe that murders or slaughters any single soul of an Igbo person.
“The trooping in of the Fulani herdsmen killers and jihadists invaders in Igbo land in the disguise of Alamajiri at this Covid19 lockdown will determine the fate of Nigeria.
“Any tribe or group that comes to Igbo land for trade/business will have a peaceful atmosphere. But any set or group coming in to Igbo Land to launch attack will turn to meat. Let those who made themselves our enemies to be careful.
“What happened in 1967-70 war was an analog genocide against Ndi Igbo, this 2020, therefore Ndigbo have become more scientific and technological than ever”
“Let those who chant for crisis or plan attack on Ndigbo be aware that” Ubochi Amuru Dike na Mba Ka Amuru Ibe ya”.
“We therefore, warned any group or tribe, herdsmen killers, invaders and Jihadists that have camped in Igbo land and forest to leave now, because any of sound of gun-shot from them, they will pay with their blood, none them shall escape”.
