In a recent broadcast via his official social media handles, Biafra Republic Government in Exile’s leader, Mazi Simon Ekpa, delivered a message that has sent shockwaves throughout Biafran territories. Addressing Biafrans worldwide on the 20th day of September 2023, Ekpa conveyed significant directives that are set to impact daily life within the region.

Ekpa began his message by declaring a curfew from 6 am to 12 am across all of Biafran territories. Following this curfew, he announced that every Biafran citizen, market, and Biafra shops would be permitted to open for business. However, Ekpa emphasized that all government secretariats, ranging from local government to state and federal offices, must remain completely shutdown—not just during the curfew hours.

Furthermore, Mazi Simon Ekpa revealed plans to send investigators to scrutinize all secretariats in Biafran land starting from September 22nd. Any secretariat found to be open during this time would face consequences from the Biafran people.

This announcement comes in the wake of Ekpa’s earlier statement during the unveiling and inauguration of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile Administration Office in the state of Maryland, United States of America. In that message, Ekpa made it clear that his actions were independent of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, stating that he had not received orders from him.

Meanwhile, troubling reports have emerged from Ehime Mbanọ, where the military has reportedly besieged the area and caused extensive damage to properties valued in billions of Naira. This retaliation by security agencies is said to be in response to an ambush they faced in the region recently. Disturbing video clips from Mbanọ TV depict numerous shops and business offices burnt down.

The affected area includes a decoration shop in Oriendu, beside which is Classic Restaurant and Bar owned by Zacky Obi. Additionally, Ehime Guest House, Bonkiri, Emma Beer Parlour, Ibari Ogwa, and others have suffered losses. As of the time of this report, residents have fled to nearby bushes for their safety, pleading with the Imo State government to intervene and protect them from the actions of the Nigerian army.

This recent broadcast by Mazi Simon Ekpa and the subsequent events in Ehime Mbanọ highlight the complex and challenging situation in Biafran territories, where political and security issues continue to impact the lives of the people. The coming days will undoubtedly see heightened tensions and increased scrutiny as Biafrans and the world await further developments.
