Williams looking forward into representing bafana at home town

Obinwannem News Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams is thrilled that he will play his fist game in Bafana colours in his home town.

Port Elizabeth-born and bred Bafana Bafana goal-keeper, Ronwen Williams, is looking forward to playing for the national team for the first time, before his home crowd.

He is part of the Bafana squad to play Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Supersport United player is the first choice keeper for the national team. Williams says he was excited, the moment it was announced that the match would be staged in Port Elizabeth.

“You know all your family is gonna be there, friends, people you grew up with. It’s an amazing feeling. The moment I found out about this the excitement started. Ever since that I have been excited looking forward to this. It has been a wonderful journey for me to come back here to play in-front of my home crowd and play for the national team that’s awesome and there is nothing better than this,” says Williams.
