The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said that the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo deserves to be stoned stressing that such elders have caused their people misery and pain.

In a statement signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, OYC maintained that Nnia Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has not represented the people effectively right from inception.

Recall that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had earlier on demanded that Nnia Nwodo be stoned as a result of his incompetence to protect his people from molestation and abuse.

Kanu had called on the Igbos during his broadcast on Radio Biafra to devise means of protection from the attacks by the killer herdsmen in various communities.

The OYC has since released a statement backing the IPOB leader, the statement reads “Nwodo as a former Minister of Information during the Military regime of Abdulsalami Abubakar in 1998, presented and marketed the 1999 constitution to Nigerians without proper protection of Igbos’ interests and without apologies to Nigerians, in 2019.

“He called the 1999 constitution that helped the military Junta to impose on Nigerians a fraudulent document that should be discarded and usher in restructuring.

“Igbos had been victimized by actions and decisions erroneously taken in the past on behalf of Igbo nation by few circles of Igbo Elders who placed their pecuniary interests above the collective interests of Igbos and never weighed the future consequences and negative impact such decisions will have on the lives and properties of Igbos.

It’s time for Igbo youths to cleanse the land, and any process that will effect positive changes on the lives of our people, including stoning the circle of elders who had vowed to make life difficult and unbearable for Igbo Youths, we will surely support the decision.”

However, Kanu during his last interactive broadcast on Friday had pleaded that Nwodo should not be stoned yet, rather given some time to repent.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu added that after listening to the senator representing Abia South and Senate minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, that Nwodo should be allowed to repent or face the wrath.
