We must come together, and I urge all PDP members to embrace the healing process – Peter Ndubuisi Mbah
I was pleased to welcome the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, chaired by former Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to Government House today. Our conversations focused on promoting peace, togetherness, and genuine reconciliation inside our great party, especially in the Southeast and across the country.
Enugu remains the PDP’s stronghold, having proudly waved the party’s banner for many years. However, as I stated during our conversation, we cannot afford to enter future elections with a split house. The only way to win is to form a united front based on fairness, inclusivity, and a real desire to reintegrate those who have left.
We understand that some of our members in the Southeast may have been aggrieved in the past, but we must remember that our party is built on brotherhood and common principles. Many of those who left still have strong feelings for the PDP, and this reconciliation movement provides an opportunity to welcome them back home.
The truth is that the PDP is the only political party with the structure, history, and vision to properly serve the Nigerian people. We therefore must give Nigerians hope. The work of the reconciliation committee is vital because it takes patience, intelligence, and subtlety to achieve long-term peace.
I thank our party’s leadership in Enugu, led by Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, for their continued efforts to grow our base. We are already seeing a large number of our members return, demonstrating their faith in the party’s future and our administration’s leadership.
As we move forward, I urge all PDP members to embrace the reconciliation process with a spirit of togetherness and growth. We must band together, stronger than ever, to form a formidable party capable of reclaiming its proper place in government for the benefit of our people.
