The Voice may Be Apapa’s, Abure’s, Nafiu’s and Ardo’s, but the Hand Is APC’s: Watch Out for a Judicial Ceasefire on ADC!
Human nature often reveals true intentions by way of failed attempts at concealment. I am writing this piece to alert Nigerians against a grand scheme of deceptive narrative going on against Mr Peter Obi, due to his recent defection from African Democratic Congress, ADC, to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC).
The move aptly described by pundits as a political checkmate against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the presidency and their proxies planted in ADC, has thrown Peter Obi’s traducers politically off balance. Their reactions have been that of wailing, cursing, sulking and threatening. In the coming weeks, their spin doctors will try to pivot narratives to make it look as if PO is the reason for the collapse of a coalition that was not coalescing in the first instance because of the destabilizing hand of APC in ADC. But Nigerians are wiser now.
Cutting through fallacies to facts: the APC-sponsored spin doctors will cloak PO in the garb of a political coward who is afraid to face his opponents in fair contest but rather wants ticket handed to him. But facts do not lie. Ahead of PDP’s presidential primary in 2022, Mr Peter Obi was the first presidential aspirant to tour 35 out of the 36 states of the federation within a month, consulting widely with the people, particularly the delegates.
For respect to HE Atiku Abubakar, PO deliberately refused to go to was Adamawa State, the home state of the former. That gesture is not compatible with cowardice. It was when the gang up to insist on a transactional and dollarised primary and thus deny him ticket thickened, that PO walked away, taking the people with him and leaving PDP to its fate.
As Obi got into the Labour Party, LP, the same destabilizing forces of APC showed up, using Apapa, Abure and compromised Nigerian judiciary to destroy LP. The target was PO. He walked away and the rest is history. Where is Apapa? Where is Abure? Where is LP? All Gone! As soon as ADC was formed, APC destabilizing forces showed up again but PO was a step ahead of them as always. As PO has bolted before they could stop him, watch and see how the court case against ADC will end in ADC’s favour because their main target, PO, is no longer in the building.
