Obinwannem News US election 2020: Electoral officials discover memory card containing over 2,000 uncounted ballots in Georgia

The US general election has stretched for two weeks with vote-counts yet to be concluded.

Whereas, the incumbent Donald Trump has remained unwavered in the legal fight to ‘overturn’ projected results even as the deadline for resolving disputed results inches closer.

Associated press projects Democratic Joe Biden to have won 290 electoral college votes, while Donald Trump of the Republican party has 232.

In key State Georgia, where manual recounts of votes had commenced last week, deluge of uncounted ballots was discovered in Fayette County, southern part of Atlanta-Georgia. A memory card that had not been uploaded in the said County was found to have had 2,755 votes according to the Georgia Secretary of State electoral officer, Gabriel Sterling.

Sterling revealed that “There was an issue where we noticed there were more people on the absentee ballot filed for voting in-person in Fayette County than was in the actual reporting. It was discovered today for certain, because of the audit.”

“There were several places where the county should have seen this. There were several human beings that didn’t follow procedure,” he said.

However, Sterling added that with the uncounted votes, the margin between Donald Trump and Joe Biden in Georgia shifts to 12,929 in favor of Biden. Fayette County will recertify the results with the discovered votes today (Wednesday).
